Mark Liddle - I.Eng. AMI Struct E. (Managing Director)

Mark Liddle Mark joined the PSA in Croydon in 1973 at the training centre and progressed to the London Region Specialist Group in 1975. Whilst with the PSA experience was gained in all aspects of Civil and Structural Engineering with secondments to the Department of Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings and periods on site at Faslane submarine facility in Scotland. Mark left the PSA in 1977 and joined private practice in London where experience was gained in multi-storey concrete and steel frame designs as part of a structural team.

Mark left London in 1980 to join a consulting Practice in Plymouth. He progressed to become an Associate Partner in charge of the day to day running of major projects covering Southern England and South Wales. A great number of these included urban regeneration on contaminated and difficult sites. Mark's experience with Developers and design build contractors and his extensive experience in dealing with difficult and contaminated land gives the practice the depth of experience to deal successfully with the most difficult engineering problems.

Colin Appleton BSc (Hons) CEng MICE MaPS (Director)

Colin Appleton Colin started his career as a site engineer, gaining experience on highways structures and industrial units. Post graduation Colin spent three years researching reinforced and unreinforced masonry, with several papers being published.

Joining a South West based consultancy he gained experience on a wide range of civil and structural projects utilising the full range of construction materials. Clients included Government, Local Authority, Commercial, Industrial and Private persons.

A short secondment to Singapore in 1996, establishing an inter company association, was followed by joining W.A. Fairhurst and Partners in Leeds. Colin became responsible for the management of all aspects of civil and structural design work, and acted as Planning Supervisor on various retail and commercial developments. He also acted as Structural Surveyor on both commercial and domestic properties.

Having been recruited to Robson Liddle in 2005 Colin’s wide experience in civil and structural engineering allows the company to undertake an increased variety of projects, ensuring that an appropriate, timely and cost effective, engineering solution is delivered to the client.
